Gratitude Abounds

2013 Community Leaders Luncheon

Nearly four hundred community leaders and Scholarship Foundation supporters gathered at the Fess Parker Double Tree Resort on Friday, December 6th, to celebrate college access for deserving Santa Barbara County students. Speakers included Ron Gallo, President and CEO of the Santa Barbara Foundation, Maryan and Dick Schall, long-time supporters of the Scholarship Foundation, and Nicholas Phillips, a scholarship recipient from the Santa Ynez Valley.

At this annual event, the Scholarship Foundation pauses to express gratitude to its individual, corporate and foundation funders. Through their generosity, the Foundation encourages and supports students who are motivated to achieve a higher-education degree. In 2013, we awarded $8.1 million to 2,601 young people.

“The Scholarship Foundation is helping to build mathematical geniuses, talented engineers, skilled physicists, creative inventors, ambitious entrepreneurs, and strong leaders of the future, among so many others,” said Nicholas Phillips. “We are a generation of innovation, of curiosity, and hope. Organizations like this, and donors like you, are what instill hope, and show us that we can change the world.”
