Your Applicant Status depends on both your history with the Scholarship Foundation (i.e., whether you have applied for a scholarship previously) and your current level of education (i.e., undergraduate or postgraduate).
Use the definitions below to identify your correct Applicant Status for the 2020-2021 academic year.
NEW APPLICANT: Undergraduate/Vocational
- Applicant has never completed the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara General Scholarship application process and personal interview as an undergraduate student OR applicant has not completed the application process as an undergraduate student for two academic years.
- Applicant is planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree, vocational certificate, or other type of undergraduate degree in the 2020-2021 academic year.
RE-APPLICANT: Undergraduate/Vocational
- Applicant has completed the SFSB application process in the 2018-2019 or 2019-2020 academic years as an undergraduate student, and is continuing his/her undergraduate studies.
- Applicant is planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree, vocational certificate, or other type of undergraduate degree in the 2020-2021 academic year.
- Applicant has completed the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara General Scholarship application process and personal interview as an undergraduate student within the last two academic years.
NEW APPLICANT: Medical (MD)/Graduate
- Applicant has never completed the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara General Scholarship application process and personal interview as a postgraduate student OR applicant has not completed the application process as a postgraduate student for two academic years.
- Applicant is planning to pursue a postgraduate degree in the 2020-2021 academic year.
RE-APPLICANT: Medical (MD)/Graduate
- Applicant is planning to pursue their postgraduate degree in the 2020-2021 academic year.
- Applicant has completed the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara General Scholarship application process and personal interview as a postgraduate student within the last two academic years.
Important Information
- “Completing the SFSB application process” means you completed the application AND had a personal interview.
- If you are changing your level of education, you need to apply as a NEW applicant. For example, if you previously received undergraduate scholarships but wish to apply as a graduate student for the first time, you will be a New Applicant: Medical/Graduate.
- If you are pursuing a second bachelor’s degree, you should still apply as an undergraduate student.
