Important Information
    Applicants must be U.S. citizens or documented legal permanent U.S. residents. Foundation student aid programs assist applicants studying in standard academic programs on a traditional academic calendar. The Foundation does not offer student aid for weekend programs, summer sessions, research, special projects, part-time studies, correspondence or off-site studies, or for any college or vocational school that has not received approval from the U.S. Department of Education for federal student aid funding. Please do not request an application if you do not meet the eligibility requirements. No exceptions to the eligibility requirements are considered.
Undergraduate and Medical/Graduate General Scholarship and Loan Program
Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara
    Applicants must have attended at least four of the six secondary grade school years at a Santa Barbara County school, and have graduated or will graduate from a Santa Barbara County high school. All applicants must be planning to attend full-time (12 units minimum per term) at an approved vocational school, 2-year college or 4-year college and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. All eligible and qualified new applicants are required to have a personal interview in the month of March following the January application deadline. The primary criteria for award selection are financial need, potential, and motivation. Applications are available October 1 at the Scholarship Foundation office and at high school counselor’s offices in Santa Barbara County, or you may apply online at this website. Application deadline: January 31.
High School Seniors Special Programs
    Honors Scholarship Program
    Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara

    Honors scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate a very high level of academic achievement. For many of the awards, other criteria are also considered and financial need is not a requirement. The competition is extremely rigorous and a special interview is required. Only high school seniors graduating in June, 2008 who have attended at least four of the six secondary grade school years in Southern Santa Barbara County (Goleta, Santa Barbara, Carpinteria) are eligible to apply. Applications are available October 1, 2007 at the Scholarship Foundation office and at high school counselors’ offices in Santa Barbara. A special paper application is required for this program.     Fleischmann and Floro Awards
    Santa Barbara Foundation

    Awards are made to students with outstanding academic achievement and strong community service. The Fleischmann Awards are available countywide and the Floro Awards are designated for students residing in Santa Maria, Guadalupe, Orcutt, and Los Alamos. Financial need is not a requirement. Students must have attended at least four of the six secondary grade school years at a Santa Barbara County school and be a senior graduating in 2008 from a Santa Barbara County high school; have earned a minimum weighted GPA of 3.5; and have a strong record of community service. Applications are available October 1, 2007 at the Scholarship Foundation office and at high school counselors’ offices in Santa Barbara County.     Art Scholarship Program
    Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara

    Art scholarships are awarded to students planning to major in Art or an Art-related major at college. Only high school seniors graduating in June 2008 who have attended at least four of the six secondary grade school years in Southern Santa Barbara County (Goleta, Santa Barbara, Carpinteria) are eligible to apply. Applications are available October 1, 2007 at the Scholarship Foundation office and at high school counselors’ offices in Santa Barbara. Eligible applicants may be required to submit a portfolio of their art at a judged competition in early 2008. A special paper application is required for this program.     There are two foundations offering student aid funds in Santa Barbara County: the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara and the Santa Barbara Foundation.
